Week 74  This week we get another set of brass bulkheads

The bits we received

And what we did with them

This is a virtual repeat of week 72.  The main brass part was curved using my usual method of rolling it on a rubber mat with a metal rod.  Then it was glued and clamped, using 24 hour Araldite.

The next job was to add the vent covers and ladders to the remaining brass bulkheads.  I used the supplementary pieces for the aft bulkhead as mentioned in the insert.

This week was then left until after week 75 was completed, the same as I did in week 72.

After week 75, I added the plain brass bulkhead, using 90 second Araldite.  Kilroy (who finally showed up for work after a somewhat extended break) held it in place while the glue cured.

Then the detailed bulkhead was glued on top.

Finally the aft bulkhead was glued in place.

Hot tip of the week

It's hardly worth straightening the handrails that get bent while handling.  Chances are they will only get bent again.  Wait until the model is almost finished, then have a mammoth straightening session prior to painting.

How many hours does it take to build the model ??
