Week 41  This week we get the last batch of second planks

The bits we received

And what we did with them

I've been plodding on slowly with the last of the second layer of planking.  I didn't follow the instructions, but I followed the way the planks seemed to go naturally.  The herringbone approach.  It's not particularly easy to get a neat job as each end needs to be tapered carefully, but it worked for me.  Just that last little bit to go now.

Here is how I finished off the bow.  The planks were stopped about 8" from the bow which left a fairly parallel section to plank.  The last couple of planks needed tapering to fit neatly, but apart from that it went quite easily.

Finally the second layer planking is finished !  Here is that last little bit filled in.

And here is an overall shot from the bow.
