Week 25  This week we get the first section of rear superstructure

The bits we received

And what we did with them

The superstructure is going to make for some light relief after the planking, which can be quite heavy going.  The magazine doesn't make it very clear, but the aft more part is the mounting for turret Ceasar, and the assembly runs forward to roughly mid ships.

I followed the instructions pretty much to the letter.  Joining the long strip came first.  Note how I used a steel rule to make sure it joined straight.

When I test fitted the parts I found that the slots were a little narrow, and didn't go right the the bottom of part 82.  This is easily rectified by removing a little wood with a sharp knife or sandpaper until the part 78 is flush with the bottom of part 82.  I had the same problem with the rear of part 79 where it sits on 85, and also parts 87 & 88.

Here is the finished assembly.
