Week 7  This week frames 28 to 33 and associated braces, plus a deck beam.

The bits we received

And what we did with them

The first two frames, 28 & 29 are glued in place, along with braces 34.  Check that they are square and the front on the keel is upright.  (I use CD cases for this).  Then let the glue dry.

I decided to glue the forward most frame in place next since this is easiest to clamp in place without the other bits in the way.

Once the forward frame was dry I followed it with the remaining parts, checking they were all square and true of course.  Part 35 needed a bit of sanding, but otherwise everything just slotted into place.

Hot tip of the week

When you get the ply fret number all the parts in pencil, and then cut them all out and remove the little pips where they were attached to the fret.  You can now get cracking with the assembly without have to worry about preparing the parts.

How many hours does it take to build the model ??
